PRESIDENTS MESSAGE 2010
Its showtime again!!!
I would like to invite you and your family and friends to join the members of the Mudgeeraba Show Society at the 82nd annual Mudgeeraba Show
I believe that we have given you all the opportunity to wear out your gumboots and this year we truly hope to see the sun shining for the whole two days of the show and indeed the week before.
The volunteers who make up the Show Society have this year put a huge effort into making this show the best ever. We have searched high and low for displays which we are sure will keep you entertained.
As always I am indebted to the Society members, friends and family who put such a huge effort into presenting the show each year. These people turn up year after year to do their bit for our community and this is my opportunity to thank them.
Councillor Ted Shepherd and Gold Coast City Council are again this year our major sponsor. The Society wish to applaud Ted and the Council for the assistance they have given us and the ongoing support and advice which is priceless.
I would also like to acknowledge our other major sponsor Advancetown Hotel and Nerang RSL. While these companies have contributed major sponsorship we are also aware that without the support from grass roots sponsors we would not have become the showpiece of the Mudgeeraba community. On the following pages are lists in detail of our many sponsors and I thank each and every one of them. I hope to get the chance to personally thank you at the show.
Your visit to the show will be an event from the moment you enter the grounds. Look for Bushrangers and Butterflies!!! They are just a snippet of the entertainers roving the grounds. We have the local schools and dance schools performing for you on the Main Stage and the Country Music Club performing on the stage in the hertitage village. We have Kevin and his racing pigs and Barry and his woodchopping blokes. Courtney, Peter, Teddy and Sherri are working hard to keep those magnificent horses and riders competing for your pleasure. This year we also have included a new section for Disabled Riders. Don't miss the chance to watch some courageous riding.
When you need a break you wont have to go far to find a drink or food. If a cold beer or wine is what you want visit the Rotary Bar on the eastern side OR the Axemans Bar on the western side.
Our Grand Parade this year will be our biggest yet and the show will be opened by former Mudgeeraba resident, and all round "great bloke"' Ross Hinze.
As the light begins to fade and the big lights get turned on, get your woolies out and make your way to a vantage point for the night event. We have your favourites and we have some new artists. The big question is " Who will win the Dunny Derby this year" and "Can Access Air be beaten at the Haystacking"? I guess we will have to wait until Saturday night to find out. One thing is for certain, the night will be entertaining even before our magnificent fireworks display.
Sunday we will be entertained by a live broadcast from the grounds by Hot Tomato. The first broadcast last year was a great success so we hope to repeat that again this year. The Utes will be shining in the sunlight down near the cattle sheds and the displays from our past will be chugging away in our renowned "Heritage Village". A visit to the show would not be complete with wandering through the pavilions inspecting the school work on display and the creativity and talent of our locals.
Don't forget to bring comfy shoes as we want to keep you with as for many hours. Hey you may even decide to join the Society. Just ask in the Main Pavilion for membership forms.
In closing I would like to personally invite you to....
OUR MUDGEERABA SHOW........SEE YOU HERE!!!!!!!
