2021 MUDGEERABA SHOW SOCIETY
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Mudgeeraba Show Society Annual General Meeting will be held Monday 11 October 2021 at 7:30 p.m in the Bill Deacon Pavilion.
If you're interested in nominating for a position such as President, Vice President, Treasurer and Management Committee members, please fill out the nomination form below and return it to the show office by the close of business on Monday 27 September 2021.
Please note amendment to Section 11, paragraph 4 on page 8 of the constitution (ratified by the Office of Fair Trading) :
'To be eligible to accept nomination for election to serve as an officer or member of the Management Committee, the member must be a member in good standing, must have been an ordinary member of the Society for a minimum of one (1) year immediately prior to the AGM at which the nomination is proposed; and must have attended a minimum of six (6) Show Coordination Meetings, four (4) of which must be a monthly Show Coordination Meeting attended in the months prior to the last two months of Show Coordination Meetings held immediately prior to the annual Mudgeeraba Show. Nominee must display an understanding of and ability to address procedures, protocols and matters relevant to management of the Mudgeeraba Show Society, Inc.
Note too that partners of Life Members, whilst enjoying the benefits as an Associate Member, need to be a financial member in their own right in order to vote or nominate. (Constitution, By Laws, Part B - 'Life Members' clause 6 Amendment 18 August 2016).

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING RECAP
The Annual General Meeting of the Mudgeeraba Show Society was held Monday, 12 October 2020. It was a well attended meeting which saw not only the following business conducted, but also much fellowship amongst members ‘catching up’!
Minute ratification and executive reports presented, we were pleased to confirm our patrons: Mr. Bill Laver, Mrs. Merna Franklin, Ros Bates, MP and Mr. George O’Brien OAM.
Mr. Steve Boyle, Past President of the Mudgeeraba Show Society, took the chair when the 2019-20 Management Committee stepped down. Two members of the Mudgeeraba RSL executive acted as scrutineers; voting results were as follows:

Vice President Melanie Bryson
Treasurer Kylie Holzinger
Management Committee: Seeta Bull, Kelly McMahon, Ross McRae, Jessica Melling, Steve Page and Stephen Profke.
To the outgoing Management Committee members, a sincere thank you for your time and dedication in the best interest and success of the Mudgeeraba Show Society.
To the new incoming members and incumbent members of the Management Committee --congratulations!! There is a lot of work ahead of us, but I look forward to embracing it with you with enthusiastic commitment for not only a successful year, but also a rewarding and fun year!!
Sub Chamber Delegates: Ella Parsons and Kylie Holzinger.
Auditor: Allen and Wolfe will remain our auditor for the 2020-2021 tax year.
Life Membership: Anne Davis, Darryl Moore and Glennys Moore were bestowed Life Membership. On behalf of the Mudgeeraba Show Society, a sincere thank you to these individuals for the many many years of dedication and volunteer hours.
Membership fees will remain the same for new memberships for 2020-2021 - $45.00 per family and $25.00 for a single membership. As passed at the Management Meeting of 7 September 2020, all current financial members will receive a free membership for 2020-21, expiring at the AGM 2021.
Strategic Plan ‘Towards 2040’ - If anyone would like a copy of the ‘roadmap’ of the future for the Mudgeeraba Show Society for the next twenty years, you can find it online on our website or request a hard copy from the office.
MEETINGS, MEETINGS, MEETINGS……
Immediately following the AGM on 12 October, a brief Show Coordination Meeting was held.The membership in attendance were asked for expressions of interest for Section Heads, Assistants to Section Heads or Volunteers for the annual Mudgeeraba Show. We will also implement the Sub Committee for Show Planning and Preparation meetings - dates to be announced. This was introduced last year and deemed highly successful and valuable. If you would like to be considered for a Section Head - whether or not you have done it before, please send the office an email.
The next Management Committee Meeting is scheduled for 2 November; the next Show Coordination Meeting scheduled for 9 November 2020. Again, if you would like to become a part of planning our annual Mudgeeraba Show or are interested in becoming involved with the Show Society, please come along to a meeting.
Attached is an invite to a webinar ‘Where’s the Funding?’ This is a GCCC hosted webinar which will be screened in the Wayne Baguley Office on 6 November at 12.30. Please email the office if you have any questions or would like to attend.
ON THE GROUNDS……
A huge family friendly Halloween Party is planned on the grounds on Saturday, 31 October. There will be food vans, prizes for the best costume, entertainment and trick or treating for the kids.
The hugely popular Paws in the Park returns to the Showgrounds in November. The wheels are in motion for another ‘Movie Night’ for both a Friday night and Saturday night in November 20 &21. This will be a bigger and better movie night with various food vans and entertainment for the kids prior to the movies.
And our Christmas Party has been set for Saturday, 12 December starting at 11 a.m.
