We’re Celebrating a Big Win for Mudgeeraba!
We are thrilled to share some wonderful news with our Show family and community, the Mudgeeraba Agricultural Show Society has taken home the Innovation in a Local Event award at the Queensland Ag Shows Awards, held on Saturday, 21 March 2026 at the View Hotel Brisbane.
This recognition means so much to us, as it celebrates the creativity, teamwork and community spirit that sit at the heart of everything we do.
We were honoured to be recognised alongside other fantastic Shows from across the state, with the Dirranbandi Show named Runner-Up for their National Kelpie Field Trial.
Our Winning Idea – The Mudgeeraba Street Party
Our award was proudly received for the innovation behind our increased involvement in the Mudgeeraba Street Party, the annual event that brings our community together.
The Street Party activation was designed to do more than just celebrate, it creates a chance for people to connect with the Show, our volunteers and our local businesses all in one place.
At the Street Party, we combined several important milestones into one vibrant community event, including:
- Our official Show launch
- Announcements of our Showgirl, Rural Ambassador and Teen Showgirl representatives
- A lively community Street Party atmosphere
- A special $10 Show ticket promotion to encourage early attendance
It was a simple idea with a big impact, bringing the community together, celebrating our people, and building excitement for the Show.
A Fun and Creative Community Experience
One of the highlights every year is our “Mudgee Moo” activation, a playful scavenger hunt that encourages families to explore the Street Party and visit local businesses and sponsors.
It creates a real buzz, with children and families getting involved, sharing their experiences and enjoying the friendly, community atmosphere that Mudgeeraba has become known for.
A Win for Our Whole Community
This award truly belongs to our volunteers, sponsors, local businesses and community members who continue to support the Show and help bring our ideas to life.
It also reflects our ongoing commitment to finding new and creative ways to keep our Show strong, relevant and connected to the community, while still honouring the traditions that make agricultural shows so special.
We are incredibly proud to represent Mudgeeraba on the state stage and grateful to be recognised by Queensland Ag Shows.
Thank you to everyone who continues to make the Mudgeeraba Show Street Party Stall such a success. This win is something we can all celebrate together.
Congratulations also to Bethany McDonald, who was a State Finalist in the Emerging Leader category. Bethany is a wonderful part of our Show Family, and we are proud of all Bethany has achieved in her time with us.
