At the Mudgeeraba Show Society, we’re passionate about encouraging young people to get involved in a variety of ways. Some volunteer alongside their families or community groups, others assist in our pavilions, animal sections, or behind the scenes, while some choose to become part of our Show Ambassador Program. No matter how they become involved, every young volunteer makes a valuable contribution to our Show and community.
Our 2026 Show Ambassadors are just one example of the incredible young volunteers who help make our Show Society stronger. Throughout the year, they have represented the Mudgeeraba Show Society at community events, supported neighbouring agricultural shows, participated in leadership development opportunities, and built lasting friendships across the agricultural show movement. Their journey demonstrates the confidence, skills, and connections that volunteering can foster while showcasing just one of the many ways young people can become involved with our Show Society.
As a volunteer-run organisation, we know today’s young volunteers are tomorrow’s stewards, committee members, and community leaders. By creating opportunities for young people to get involved, we’re helping ensure the traditions of the Mudgeeraba Show continue to thrive for generations to come.

Chloe Bell – Young Woman of the Year (21 years old)
Volunteering with the Mudgeeraba Show Society has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. It’s given me the opportunity to meet so many incredible people, build my confidence, and become more involved in my local community.
Although we didn’t get to hold the Show this year, it reminded me that the Show Society is about so much more than one weekend. It’s about bringing people together, supporting our community, and preserving traditions that have been part of Mudgeeraba for generations.
This year has given me opportunities I never expected, from representing the Show at community events and visiting other agricultural shows to meeting so many inspiring volunteers. Every experience has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
I’m incredibly grateful to be part of the Mudgeeraba Show Family, and I can’t wait to continue volunteering and see what next year’s Show brings.
Zahara Alexander – Teen Young Woman of the Year (17 years old)
Despite the sadness that has come with the cancellation of this year’s Mudgeeraba Show, I feel so proud and honoured to still have had a part in the show society this year. What stands out to me is the community; the dedication, perseverance and joy that has evidently shone from our show society.
Volunteering with the Show Society allows involvement in so many community events: like the Mudgeeraba Street Party, where I was able to witness so many people come together for the show, and it was so memorable seeing the volunteers uplifting one another, and the passion they have for the community.
Also being able to visit other Agricultural Shows, where lots of show society volunteers show up in full force, with a smile and ready to support other shows is really inspiring to see. Despite our show being cancelled, the volunteers at the show society work year round, and have still had to put in countless hours of work, and have remained strong and hopeful, so that they can keep supporting our local community and make next year’s show even bigger and better.
What I love about the Show Society is how much they invest into and value their volunteers and help develop skills that translate far beyond the Showgrounds. The opportunities they provide us are incredible and even being able to slightly contribute to a movement far bigger than myself has been invaluable. I am so grateful to the show society, and our wonderful coordinator (a distinguished volunteer in her own right), Bethany McDonald, and President Melanie Bryson for all they have done to help.
Natalia Bourne – Teen Young Woman of the Year Runner-Up (16 years old)
Being an Ambassador for the Mudgeeraba Show Society has strengthened my connection to our community, helping me build my confidence, as well as gain and develop valuable skills. I enjoyed being involved with the Mudgeeraba Street party, attending the Doyles V.I.P evening, visiting other agricultural shows, meeting fellow ambassadors, and seeing the passion and dedication that exists across our show community. Everyone has been so nice and welcoming throughout the entire experience and I am so grateful for the opportunities and experiences this role has given me.
Annalia Bendall – Community Spirit (17 years old)
Volunteering with the Mudgeeraba Show Society has been a rewarding experience that has given me an opportunity to connect with and give back to the community. It has been a privilege to help contribute to these events and to see the positive impact they have on the community. I have gained many valuable skills and lasting friendships through the Show Ambassador program and look forward to expanding my volunteering efforts in the future. The Mudgeeraba Show Society is such a welcoming and supportive team that encourages community spirit and connection throughout Mudgeeraba.
